Basic Science Facts Explained: The Simple Guide for You
Science stay all around us every day. It explain why rain fall and how sun shine. Many people thinks science is very hard, but we makes it simple. Read these amazing facts to understand your world much better!
Gravity Pulls Everything Down
Gravity is a invisible power. It pull every object toward the center of Earth. When you drops your phone, it hit the ground because gravity pull it.
The Earth is so big that it have a very strong pull. This force keep your feet on floor. It also keep the Moon from floating away. Without gravity, we all flies into deep space!
Why the Sky Look Blue
Sunlight look white to our eyes. But it really have all colors of rainbow inside. When sunlight enter the air, it hit gas and tiny dust.
Blue light travel in very short and tiny waves. These waves scatter much more than red or yellow colors. When you look up, you sees this scattered blue light everywhere. That is why sky look blue on a sunny day!
Plants Makes Their Own Food
Plants does not eat like humans. They makes their own energy using the sun. Scientists calls this process Photosynthesis.
To do this, a plant need three things:
- Sunlight (Energy)
- Water (from ground)
- Carbon Dioxide (from air)
The green leaves catch the sun energy. Then the plant turn this into sugar. This sugar help the plant grow tall. Also, plants gives us oxygen. We needs this oxygen to stay alive!

The Three States of Matter
Everything you see is call “matter.” Matter usually stay in three different forms.
- Solids: These has a hard shape. A rock or a chair is a solid. The tiny atoms stays very close together.
- Liquids: These flows and fill up any cup. Water and milk is liquids.
- Gases: These is mostly invisible. Gas expand to fill the whole room. The air you breathe is a gas.
You changes the state of matter by adding heat. If you heat ice, it become water. If you heat it more, it become steam.
Light Move Faster Than Sound
Light is the fastest thing in the whole universe. It move much faster than sound waves. This is why you see things before you hears them.
Think about a big storm. You always sees the flash of lightning first. Then, a few seconds later, you hears the loud thunder. The light reach your eyes very fast, but the sound take more time to travel through the air.
Conclusion
Science tell us the “why” for everything. When you understands these basic facts, life become very interesting. Keep asking many questions and you learns new thing every day!
